Mindfullness Morning: (Optional)

Morning Meditation can ground your entire day. Beginning with a meditation in the morning is clinically proven to deepen individuals’ ability to enact recovery strategies in their everyday lives.

Group Check In: 


Each morning after breakfast we begin the day with a goal setting/check in round.


Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention

MBRP is a designed as an aftercare program to support integrating mindfulness into current recovery plans. MBRP is likely to benefit individuals who have undergone initial treatment and wish to maintain their treatment gains and develop a lifestyle that supports their well being and recovery.


Course Outline:

  • SESSION 1: Thought: Seeing Thoughts as Thoughts and Importance of Self-Care


  • SESSION 2:Water: Automatic Pilot and Relapse, Awareness of Triggers and Craving


  • SESSION 3:Movement: Acceptance and Skillful Action


  • SESSION 4:Mindfulness in Daily Life: S.O.B.E.R. Breathing Exercises


  • SESSION 5:Thoughts, Sounds, Feelings: Accessing Acceptance and Skillful Action




Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT):

Cognitive behavioural therapy is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behaviour that are behind people's difficulties, and so change the way they feel.

CBT Strategies:

  • A: Relaxation


  • B: Realistic Thinking: Effectively managing negative emotions involves identifying negative thinking and replacing it with realistic and balanced thinking.


  • C: Steps to Realistic Thinking


  • D:Confronting Fears


  • E: Lifestyle Balance

  • SESSION 1:Maintaining Motivation for Abstinence


  • SESSION 2: Coping with Urges and Cravings


  • SESSION 3: Identify and Manage Irrational Thinking/ Feelings/ Behaviours


  • SESSION 4: Lifestyle Balance 



Freetime:

Paddle Boards/ Exercise/ Swimming/ Rest/ Canoe 

Funtime:

Water-skiing/ Tubing, etc... 

Fireside Check In:

An opportunity to reflect upon the day, noting what was learned, any difficulties that have arisen and any insights.


Individual Check-In w/ Facilitator

​If any thing is coming up for participants that they wish to deal with individually, the facilitator is available for short times through out the day during freetime, after lunch and before afternoon group.
